From New York To Lagos: Art As A Window To Culture
Recording clean, clear audio in the bustling city of New York can be a challenge. The constant noise pollution can disrupt even the most well-planned interviews, often resulting in frequent pauses to wait for a siren, helicopter, honking vehicle, or screaming pedestrian to pass. But, as the crew of our latest film shoot was about to discover, New York is no match for Lagos, Nigeria, where we were set to capture the story of visual artist Olaniyi (Niyi) Omatayo.
Painting The Artist: Telling The Untold with Studio Worldwide
In March of this year, a startup called The Studio Worldwide reached out and asked us to sit down for coffee at the Soho House on the lower east side of Manhattan. In the nine years since Wright Film Co was founded, we’ve received some pretty out of the box shoot requests. Knowing next to nothing about The Studio, we headed over to Ludlow St on a rainy winter day to learn about their mission, and what kind of collaboration they had in mind.
Imagine Yourself Here: Revitalizing An Icon With Friction Design
Finding yourself among the cobblestone Tribeca side streets at dawn is one of the most beautiful sights to behold in New York City. There’s something indescribable in the early morning air of lower Manhattan, and the senses are heightened as the city wakes up and comes to life. On one of our latest projects, we were faced with the difficult task of bringing this sense of wonder to the screen. The focus: 32 Avenue of the Americas, an iconic but forgotten Tribeca behemoth. Our job: capture it in all its glory.
Paradise Found: Filming The Maldives’ Most Luxurious Underwater Villa
When we were invited by Travel + Leisure to join a press trip to the Maldives, we knew it was an opportunity we couldn't miss. The Maldives, a stunning tropical paradise located in the Indian Ocean, is made up of 26 atolls and over 1,000 coral islands. The crystal-clear waters that surround the islands boast an incredible variety of marine life, making it a popular destination for snorkeling, diving, and romantic getaways.
Capturing The Magic: Behind The Scenes At Loch Ness
One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is the opportunity to travel the world, bringing unique human stories and experiences to the screen. And we were thrilled when we were commissioned for a tourism campaign by Scottish Canals, taking us back around the globe to the place we first began.
